Freddy G. Carr – CEO/President

Leading the Destinfirst team is Freddy G. Carr. Carr will serve as the bank’s Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. With more than 27 years of banking experience, Carr has served in senior bank management positions for the past nineteen years with regional holding company banks including President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board for Barnett Bank of Northwest Florida. More recently Mr. Carr served for 5 years as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Destin Bank, a local community bank previously headquartered in Destin, Florida.

Carr, born in Albertville, Alabama is a graduate of Auburn University and completed his graduate degree at the LSU Banking Center in 1987. He is an active member of the community and has served as a past President of the Economic Development Council, Okaloosa Walton College Foundation, and United Way. Presently Carr is emeritus director of OWC Foundation, a member of the Economic Development Council as well as a member of the Destin, and Walton County Chambers of Commerce.

D. Scott Gashaw - Executive Vice President & Senior Lending Officer

Serving as Executive Vice President & Senior Lending Officer, Scott Gashaw brings more than 17 years of experience in the financial, insurance and real estate industries to Destinfirst Bank; including 13 years in commercial banking and commercial mortgage banking.

Gashaw grew up in Dothan, Alabama and obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the University of Alabama. He received a Master’s of Business Administration from Georgia State University in 1994.

Prior to coming to Destinfirst, Gashaw worked with SouthTrust Bank in Birmingham and Mobile, Alabama as Vice President and Manager of the real estate loan department; and has served as Vice President and production officer at Laureate Capital Mortgage Bankers.
